The company was founded in 1853 by the Bonduelles and was named "Lesaffre and Bonduelle". Originally, it was a distillery to produce alcohol from grain.
The Bonduelle brand was created in 1947. In 1968, the company began the frozen vegetables activity.
After starting out as a regional brand, the company gradually became a national, then European, and then a global brand. Today, it is a public family-run company and the main shareholder is Bonduelle Family. Bonduelle products are known and enjoyed in over 80 countries.
