Description
The chanterelle mushroom, also known as girolle (Cantharellus cibarius), grows from the end of May in clear oak forests in temperate regions. - Cantharellus cibarius is often found among moss. It measures between 5 and 10 cm, and can be differentiated from other chanterelle species by its funnel-shaped cap measuring 2-8 cm wide, and the deep folds under the cap. - It is creamy-white or pale yellow in colour. - The chanterelle is slightly soft with a wonderfully fruity scent and flavour.
